Thanks so much for checking out our blog! We, Lenore and Candace, have been friends and like-minded visionaries for about 4 years now. Our frequent talks about beauty, fashion, and changing the world sparked the birth of ClassyFabulous, and we’re so excited about the concept.
Some more about us:
Lenore
Lenore is an East Coast native, so wearing black is in her blood. She buys mostly classic pieces, but loves to make them interesting by adding accessories in exciting (read: non-black) colors and textures. Her shoe of choice is a basic black pump (pointy-toe, since you’re curious), which she is pretty certain she couldn’t live without (Is anyone else devastated that Nine West discontinued the Frida?). Current fashion staples for Lenore are her Joe’s Jeans in the Honey Curvy fit and her Tadashi black ruched v-neck evening dress.
Lenore hopes to someday build a beauty-centric empire that benefits domestic violence survivors, because she believes that beauty and fashion have the potential to bring women together and deepen feminine bonds. Depsite her dedication to personal finance eduation, Lenore could bankrupt herself in the pursuit of natural beauty products. When she’s not blogging about fashion, Lenore likes to eat avocados, read Kahlil Gibran, and learn about microfinance.
Candace
Candace lives by the adage that you can never have too many shoes, and everything is best in black. Deviations from her usual style are inspired by her travels around the world. When she finds something that is a classic piece and fits perfectly, she buys two of them. She believes that a wardrobe is built piece-by-piece, year after year, and can be a woman’s greatest piece of art (besides herself – of course). Items that she could not live without include a black wrap dress by United Colors of Benetton and her Tarte Mascara.
Candace believes that beauty is a means through which women can connect to one another and empower themselves. She supports organizations like the Kabul Beauty School, which seeks to lessen the gender divide in Afghanistan through teaching women skills in the beauty industry and inspiring them to be entrepreneurs. When she’s not on ClassyFabulous, Candace likes to cook Middle Eastern food (Moro East is her favorite cook book), plan her next trip, study arabic, and dream up ideas for organizations which support women in emerging markets.
